Shaped by the spirit of Asian collectivism, but not be ruled by propriety or convention, 1880 represents the convergence of contrasts – a shared space for those who dare to be different.
To create the 1880 mark, we heightened the visual symmetry inherent in the digits "1", "8" and "0" to yield a fluid, harmonious logotype. The use of an accent colour or outline emphasizes the sense of balance, and completes the final mirrored effect.
A traditional Asian symbol of guardianship, the taotie serves the secondary brand mark. It both welcomes and warns – receiving those who belong and deflecting uninvited guests. The symmetrical features of the taotie simultaneously acknowledge the gatekeeper’s dual role and capture the brand’s defining spirit.
